Vocea Spaniei sau a lui Alejandro Sanz?

malu-manuel-carrasco-alejandro-melendi

Aseara a început Vocea Spaniei sezonul 4… Yeeeeeey!

A heart full like the Moon

lp2

LP @ Full Moon Live, Arenele Romane, Bucharest

That’s how my heart felt at the end of LP’s concert at Full Moon Live event.

The night started with a wow moment… seeing Saturn and its ring through a telescope -it looked small, but damn, WE are so small – and it continued with a nice warming concert of Moonlight Breakfast.

And 22:00 sharp sharp [that means respect for the audience] the magic started to happen. And for one hour and a one song encore I got mesmerized, under the perfect image of a full Moon.

I am not very good at expressing my feelings and emotions with words, but for sure I can show it. And when it comes to music my whole body gets involved. So from the first second, till the last beat every pore of it felt the vibes of her crystal clear voice. I got goosebumps, I felt the need of closing my body to keep it inside, I smiled with my whole face and from the bottom of my heart, I listened with my eyes closed and my ears wide open, and mostly, I got that feeling of a full beating heart that you get when you fall in love and you need to breath deeply cause it overwhelms you.

I cannot find any adjective to properly describe her voice or the feelings induced, even though many times during the show I was telling myself that is sounds divine. I don’t know how divine sounds but it felt like that.

That hour passed at a glance and in the end I didn’t want to stop, to go home and not hear her anymore, cause a video never compares with a live moment.

I’ve heard some music in my live, some good and very good live voices, but this girl with her whistling, highs and lows trills is definitely one of the best of our times, if not the best… and she was somehow hidden for so long. I also didn’t know many of her songs, but the surprise was even bigger.

So if you missed her live in concerts till now, don’t hesitate and go to see her next time, it totally worths every cent.

*Congrats to the organizers for a great sound.

Broken Wings – national campaign against domestic violence

Last year, I’ve worked with an NGO that fights against domestic violence, Necuvinte Association.

During my short stay with them I have also came in contact with women (many with children) that were the victims of their partners’ abuse. Some really eager to get rid of them and to obtain a restriction order, others that still had the hope that their partners will get better, even though the evidences were clear that they won’t and some that with a little psychological help recreated part of the couple’s harmony.

Some cases were softer and some harder, making you think of what keeps them there, a victim of an abusive partner, being it physical, mental, verbal etc. Why do we cling on that toxic “love”, what’s more important than our health, our children’s or other relatives   health.

My colleague, Simona, that believes with her whole heart in the mission of this organization, had an idea of a project about women that got into prison because they have murdered their husbands when they couldn’t stand anymore the violence.

So I had the opportunity to be present at the first interview that took place in Târgșor Women Penitentiary. After more than a hour of listening, questions that were raising other questions and many written papers we were quite in a different state of mind.

You know that things like this happen, you hear it at the news, from people you know or you have some relatives that show their affection with a slap and some punches. And just by that you get chills. Imagine when you hear why and how a woman murdered her husband because she couldn’t no more. And I cannot imagine what they feel, how strong the love for a man or woman can be, how big the fear can be that you stay like paralyzed in that hell.

At the second interview went only Simona, but she described with a luxury of details all the stories… and we were pretty shocked. My directly work with the organization ended at the moment, but we stayed in contact and I was really eager to see how it will look the final produc as I already knew that the impact will be big.

But, the introduction was quite long for what I was actually trying to show you. The idea became a national campaign, Broken Wings.

On the 1st of July, Necuvinte Association in partnership with the Romanian Police launched the first national campaign Broken Wings. The central point of this campaign is the documentary “Broken Wings” realised with the support of Castel Film and the National Administration of Penitentiaries. The documentary presents the victims of domestic violence in Romania through several cases of detained women from Târgșor Women’s Penitentiary. The documentary is built around the stories of women who have lived a life of abuse and fear, what motivated them to withstand years of cruel sufferings, not to ask anyone’s help and getting to a point where they gave up all hope and changed the roles from victim to aggressor, making their own justice.

Part of this campaign is also the Safety Guide for the Victims of Domestic Violence that starting with the 1st of August will be distributed to all police stations nationwide. This guide is for people who understand that they are in an abusive situation and take the first steps towards leaving that environment. The guide will be distributed along with posters that will be posted in the notice boards of every apartment building. This posters are created to aim “the black number” of domestic violence, the people that are not found in any statistics, that never talked about what they are living.(Necuvinte Association)

I leave you here the documentary, I advise you to watch it till the end and then think of the situations when you did nothing, when you were neutral or how you will behave next time you see that someone you know, or not, someone on the street, is the victim of any kind of violence.

If you don’t feel comfortable in your relationship here you can find the signs that show you if it is an abusive one: physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, financial or spiritual.  http://www.necuvinte.ro/what-is-domestic-violence/?lang=en

Bucharest International Air Show 2016

It’s been quite a long time since the wind is blowing around here, even though during this months there were some subjects that worth being written on the blog. There were not few the days when I said to myself that I also have an opinion and I should express it, especially in a larger way on the blog, but life happened and I prefered to keep them for myself 😀

Anyway, I’m back with a visual post, some pictures from the Bucharest International Air Show that took place this weekend at Băneasa Bucharest Airport.

Plenty of people gathered from the very morning till late at night to see the performances of pilots and their planes. They witnessed shows from Spanish, Czech, Ukrainian, Greek or Romanian groups, being acrobatics or rescuing shows, and visited the exhibition of different kind of aircrafts.

For me it was the second year of BIAS and after I heard and felt the sound made by the supersonic aircrafts last year I said that I won’t miss it again.

Suhoi 27 was by far the loudest and it totally gave my thrills and goosebumps, an acoustic orgasm, for sure. But I would never want to hear it in action and for the purpose that is was made, Air Shows are just fine for me and I hope for every other region is this world.

Enough said from me, the pictures will say more.

#29booms

Lately, it has been very à la mode to create a personal project along the year or for a period of time and post it on social media: a selfie per day, a second of your day, and probably the most known #100happydays.

I’m not sure if we can find 100 happy things for 100 days in a row or sometimes taking the challenge might get people to create them just for the post. Not trying to contradict anyone that did it or it’s doing it, just a thought from an optimistico-realistic person :D.

In a way I wanted to see if I can be able to take to an end a similar project, but a year or 100 days are way to much to focus on creating personal posts for social media accounts.

So I have decided to take the shortest month of the year, February (even though I have chosen the bad year, the leap year), and use a new app from Instagram, Boomerang, to create 29 short clips that will represent a moment, an action or a feeling of the day. It all started with my speed blinking game when I first downloaded the app.

Even though I don’t have a specific subject, sometimes I have to think of the idea or just take the closest action. And many times I post them late at night cause I forget during the day. So my full respect for those that are doing this for a way longer period.

If you want to see what I’m talking about follow the #29booms hashtag on Instagram, or better, take a look at my Instagram account; for sure you’ll find some more pictures to like and you will decide to follow 😀

Thanks!

When we think of a new iPhone release, most of us have the image of long queues, people waiting for days, almost camping in front of the store.

But last night, Vodafone Romania launched the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in a pinky, relaxed and jazzy-bossanova atmosphere in the old city center of Bucharest: great mood induced by Breeze, the band performing for those gathered around, the printed pink photos, the campaign that had as a prize the new iPhone for those that were wearing a pink item, the magician doing tricks with the help of the iPhone apps, great catering (delicious sweets- i really need the recipe of those cupcakes frosting) and la pièce de résistance… the new iPhone6s and iPhone 6s Plus, that run from the ball and appeared at midnight, just like Cinderella.poza 3

Digital Divas 2015

According to Urban Dictionary a diva is:
1. female version of a hustler.
2. a bitchy woman that must have her way exactly, or no way at all. often rude and belittles people, believes that everyone is beneath her and thinks that she is so much more loved than what she really is. selfish, spoiled, and overly dramatic.

If you scroll a bit more on the page you will get to a more researched definition of the word:
adj. pronounced (DEE-VAH)- 1.to describe a person who exudes great style and personality with confidence and expresses their own style and not letting others influence who they are or want to be. 2. A person whose character makes them stands out from the rest. 3. Noun; a person’s title in a group of friends or in society that is popular or famous and who many people try to copy. 4. A person who tries to achieve what they want and who do not let people get in their way, and doing so with style and class.

From Wikipedia we find that A diva (/ˈdvə/; Italian: [ˈdiːva]) is a celebrated female singer; a woman of outstanding talent in the world of opera, and by extension in theatre, cinema and popular music. The meaning of diva is closely related to that of prima donna.

Apparently, nowadays, the word has a more pejorative meaning, leading people away from the idea of a strong woman.

Digital Divas is an event created to celebrate powerful women that activate online in different domains.
As Gabriela Lungu (Creative Communications Expert) stated during her speech, a cool modern diva is a powerful woman that sustains her opinions, is competent, professional and very good in her field of activity.
On 27th May, Bragadiru Palace was the host for many beautiful Digital Divas interested in finding new ways of improving their work and lifestyle, for a conference with many interesting topics and an Awards Gala for the most active women on the internet.

The Gala is an unique event celebrating some of the best fashion and beauty blogs, and also acknowledging the accomplishments of the most active women on the Internet. In an exclusive setting, the gala will bring together important names in the local fashion and beauty industry in a special evening of networking and glamour. (via official website)

I hope that in the next year many other Divas will rise and do great things.

Places to think

From one thinker to another, we have to admit that there are some places and times when our brains have a bigger activity. For example, before I fall asleep I have some moments of wandering through my recent memories that in 5 seconds get connected to memories from my childhood and then mixed with things I would like to happen, consisting also in dialogues in different languages and I almost every time end up trying to figure out how different words or expressions are in all the Latin languages.

Then there’s the shower, where the thinking area has no limits and you go wild forgetting the pouring water on your head. Actually yesterday, while showering, I was thinking that I think too much and that my brain doesn’t even have a coffee break. And then, this comes to my attention.

No more arguing, let’s just think as much as our brains can handle.
